I am often asked why I do what I do?.............It's wood, I simply love working with it and in ivy I have found a medium that challenges and excites me. Finding the ivy, revealing the patterns on spalted wood or the sheer whiteness of fresh ivy, evokes in me all kinds of emotions.
I first started sculpting in ivy while on a trip to Ireland 14 years ago and still have the original piece that inspired me and has kept me crafting it ever since. From that first single piece of ivy I have developed my technique and imagination in the ways of ivy and have incorporated other woods, stone and also glass. Some pieces are small, others quite large but, all quite one of a kind.

Each piece I make is unique and rather than sign these pieces I add a piece of stone taken from my home village in Wales. These stones are found only in the area I come from and are embedded into the ivy.
